Come join our growing team!  At Kansas Gastroenterology, we are dedicated to the patient experience, including quality and satisfaction. We are currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Scheduler to join our well-established GI practice. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Schedule a variety of outpatient procedures and follow up visits as requested by the physician, optimizing patient satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person and/or on the telephone.
  • Follows physician/provider orders for scheduling appropriate ancillary tests and procedures
  • Works directly with the patient and/or family to coordinate scheduled tests and procedures, answer questions, and provide instructions and educational materials
  • Interacts with hospital and facility staff to coordinate tests and procedures
  • Electronically enters information in the patient record
  • Answer calls and tasks
  • Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics
  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality policies.
  • Provides excellent customer service at all times
  • Experience preferred, but will train the right person.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a medical office or facility
  • EMR experience
  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm
  • Excellent communication skills
Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
